It’s been a truly mammoth task, but as we are the only organisation in Italy that offers this kind of support, we feel this information will be very useful for many people.
The traffic light symbols you see in the results mean the following:
● ● | Go, it’s all clear |
● | Acceptable |
● | This could cause problems but, on the whole, you can turn a blind eye, especially if the component is at the end of the list of ingredients |
● | This could cause problems. We don’t recommend its use, unless it’s the only component in red or if it is in lower quantities (i.e. at the end of the INCI list) |
● ● | Unacceptable |
● | Still not classified |
Currently, there are precisely 6205 known substances that can be used to produce cosmetics. So far, ‘only’ 4947 of the most frequently used substances have been classified.
